Former Cavalier football standout, Joe Hall, joined the Virginia Athletics Foundation in August 1997. He is responsible for fund raising efforts in the Northern Neck of Virginia, Virginia Beach and Fredericksburg as well as Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

Hall received a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Virginia in 1990. He was a defensive lineman for the Cavalier football team from 1986-90 and was elected a tri-captain in 1990. Hall earned All-ACC honors in 1990, was on the ACC academic honor roll and was named U.Va.'s Defensive Player of the Year that same year.

He returned to the University as a graduate assistant football coach and earned a master's degree in teaching in 1993. He received his certification in history and spent four years teaching and coaching in Central Virginia.
