A native of Bethesda, Md., Michael Speight joined the Virginia Athletics Foundation in January 2011 after completing his master’s in business administration and sports administration at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  While at Ohio, Speight was the Assistant Director of Development with the Ohio Bobcat Club, overseeing the Bobcat Representative Program and the Bobcat Club priority point system.

He works closely with the development team, focusing on the membership and benefits program primarily for donors at the Wahoo, Cavalier, and Coaches Club levels. He also assists with seating and parking assignments for football and men’s basketball.

Speight graduated from the University of Maryland in 2008 with a degree in economics.  Prior to enrolling at Ohio University, he completed a fellowship with the Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.
