About Us
What Is the Virginia
Athletics Foundation?
The Virginia Athletics Foundation is the fundraising arm for Virginia Athletics. The mission is to support student-athlete scholarships, world class facilities, and operations for each of Virginia's 27 varsity sport programs.
Originally chartered as the Virginia Student Aid Foundation in December 1948, the Virginia Athletics Foundation strives to elevate excellence in the already high-achieving student-athletes and sports programs at the University of Virginia.
Today, there are more than 750 student-athletes at the University of Virginia. Our generous donors support athletics scholarships, the academic experience of student-athletes, sport-specific operational costs, awards, and facilities. The financial investment of VAF members helps position our teams to successfully compete both at the conference and national level.
