Excellence Fund

Central to the mission of the University of Virgina's Department of Athletics is its commitment to attract and retain the highest quality student-athletes and staff to field nationally competitive teams while adhering to the rigorous academic standards of the University.

The Athletic Director's Excellence Fund was established to provide financial support to areas of greatest and most pressing need within the department at the Director of Athletics' discretion. Since its creation, the Fund has supported needs not covered by sport programs' general operating budgets, including summer school tuition and study abroad, laptops, post-season travel, academic awards for student-athletes, career development trips, retention bonuses for coaches, and recruiting trips.

Donor investment continues to be critical to the growth and broad-based success of Virginia Athletics. Your gift to the Athletic Director's Excellence Fund will enable athletics leadership to respond quickly to opportunities that will enhance the experience of our more than 750 student-athletes as they pursue excellence in competition, in the classroom, and in service to their community.
